A Founder's Note
Why We Started Airock
TL;DR
- • What used to take a cross-functional team of 15+ and six months, an AI-native team of one or two can now ship in weeks.
- • The bottleneck is no longer code. It's knowing what to build and turning a messy operation into a clear product.
- • Airock helps SME and enterprise teams in Singapore digitise workflows, build the data foundation, and ship AI that runs in daily operations.
The old way of building was expensive and slow
Before starting Airock, I spent years leading digital transformation inside large companies. I saw first-hand what it took to build a meaningful digital product or transform a business workflow: a large cross-functional team — product managers, designers, engineers, data specialists, QA, operations and business stakeholders — and months, sometimes longer, before anything real reached users or created measurable business value.
That was the normal way of building. It is no longer the only way.
AI has changed the equation.
The new bottleneck is product thinking, not code
Today, the hardest part is no longer writing software. The real challenge is knowing what to build, why it matters, how it fits into the business, and how to turn a messy operational problem into a clear product or workflow.
This is where product leadership becomes decisive. My work over the past decade has been about translating business needs into product requirements, aligning teams around the right problem, and turning complexity into products, platforms and systems that actually operate in the real world. With AI in the loop, that capability becomes dramatically more powerful.
Proven in our own delivery: weeks, not quarters
We have already proven this in our own work. A small AI-native team — sometimes just one or two people — now takes a product from idea to launch in weeks, work that previously required a team of fifteen and half a year. And this is not the quick-and-fragile kind of delivery. When the process starts with clear product thinking, structured requirements, AI-assisted development, technical review and maintainable architecture, AI-native delivery produces systems that are not only faster to build, but easier to iterate, operate and maintain.
Who Airock is built for
Airock is built for SME leaders, operations teams and enterprise functions — especially in Singapore and Southeast Asia — who know AI matters, but don't yet know where to start, what to trust, or how to ship something their team actually uses on Monday morning. AI should not stay as a buzzword, a demo, or a tool reserved for big-tech. The real opportunity is to bring AI-powered productivity into every company, every team and every workflow.
Digital foundations come first
But AI transformation has to start from the ground up.
The first step is becoming properly digital.
AI only creates real value when the underlying data, workflows and business context are clear. For most companies, the first step is not building an AI agent or adding a chatbot. It is becoming properly digital: organising processes, structuring data, and creating systems that allow AI to actually understand, support and improve the work.
What Airock actually does
That is why we started Airock. We help businesses move from curiosity about AI to real implementation in weeks. We work with clients to clarify their business problems, digitise their workflows, build the right data foundation, and then turn AI capabilities into practical products, systems and automation that can be used in daily operations.
Airock exists to make AI transformation real — not just imagined, not just discussed, but built, shipped and delivered.
